Tips on How to Start and Keep Up Your Own Blog 5

Slow and steady wins the race

Great blog content can be truly great if you confine yourself to one or two blogs at the most.

We know it is tempting to think ah, if one blog will make me money, two or more will bring in a fortune.

But remember that you will have to keep on producing content week after week, month after month, year after year going forward. The beast needs to be fed. So don’t try to join the band wagon initially by creating many blogs, and plastering them with adsense ads and affiliate links. They end up as nothing more than spam blogs, or worse still, the quality diminishes as you try to do justice to each by hopping back and forth.

Your blog content needs to be well researched and relevant, and a slow start gives you a better foundation for success.

Plagiarized content will backfire on you, and chase readers away. They want something unique and original.  Make sure you attract attention for the right reasons!

Develop a style that is all your own, lively, fresh, interesting. Try to post every few days, but no more than every other day.  One reason for that is that if you line up your content to post it on a regular schedule, and then something crops up, you have an available post within a day or so to comment upon it.

I used to post every day, but then saw I was posting sometimes three times a day as I commented on the news of the world and other topics of interest.

Which is not necessarily a bad thing, but if you are posting a mix of evergreen content and newsworthy items, it is almost overkill. You can space out the evergreen content to several times a week and keep attracting the search engines.

Remember that the quality of the well key worded posts make the impact, and not the quantity.
